On June 20, 2026, the whistle sounded on the road and bridge dedicated line in Shijiazhuang Economic and Technological Development Zone, and the Hebei Xinjiang multimodal transport special train from Shijiazhuang to Kashgar slowly departed. This is not an extension of an ordinary route, but rather a crucial piece of the puzzle that Hebei has added to its western logistics map - a direct route to southern Xinjiang, giving rise to a railway channel.

The whole train goes directly to Kashgar

The Hebei Xinjiang Railway Express is led by the Xinjiang Chamber of Commerce in Hebei Province, adopting an integrated transportation mode of hub hub node: Shijiazhuang is the hub for goods gathering, Urumqi is the regional distribution center, and the goods are sent in whole trains to Kashgar, completely replacing the old method of secondary transportation of goods in southern Xinjiang through highways after transit in Urumqi.

Guo Jianhua, manager of the general management department of Hebei Jijiang Train Transportation Co., Ltd., introduced that this mode effectively reduced the comprehensive logistics cost, significantly reduced the transport efficiency, filled the gap of Hebei direct railway trains to southern Xinjiang, and opened up the complete freight chain connecting Hebei with the whole northern and southern regions of Xinjiang.

49 trains running out on a regular basis

The Hebei Xinjiang train will be put into trial operation on November 30, 2025, and officially included in the national railway timetable in April 2026, achieving fixed train numbers, fixed routes, and fixed schedules. At present, we maintain a stable frequency of two trains per week, with an average of 8 to 10 trains per month. A total of 49 trains have been operated, and 5078 standard containers have been shipped. The three major guarantee systems of transportation capacity, timeliness, and source of goods have been fully implemented, and Hebei's western land logistics has entered a stage of scale normalization. Guo Jianhua said that the next step will continue to develop two-way railway channels to Korla, Aksu and other regions, and strengthen the logistics network in southern Xinjiang.
