Recently, at the 51st Geneva International Invention Exhibition, known as the "Olympics of Invention", Yuchai and Tianjin University jointly developed the "Ultra Low Emission Natural Gas Engine Efficient Clean Combustion and Reliability Improvement Technology", which successfully won the gold medal at the exhibition and shone on the global innovation stage.
As one of the world's three major invention exhibitions, the Geneva International Invention Exhibition is jointly organized by authoritative organizations such as the World Intellectual Property Organization, with strict evaluation standards and high international recognition. This exhibition gathers over 1400 cutting-edge innovative achievements from more than 40 countries and regions around the world, with fierce competition and high value.
In response to the three major industry challenges of energy consumption, emissions, and durability in natural gas engines, this award-winning technology creates a comprehensive innovation system and achieves three key breakthroughs: high efficiency and energy conservation, pioneering the oblique axis vortex airway collaborative optimization technology, coupled with precise control strategies, significantly improving thermal efficiency, reducing exhaust temperature, and making power more energy-efficient; Ultra low emissions, innovative dual catalyst technology route, simultaneous purification of various pollutants such as methane and nitrogen oxides, green and low-carbon; Stable and reliable, optimized overall structure and cooling system, completely solves industry pain points such as low-temperature water accumulation and icing, and adapts to harsh working conditions in multiple scenarios.
In addition, multiple hard core data confirm the technical strength. The engine equipped with this technology has the highest effective thermal efficiency in mass production, leading the industry, with a cumulative sales volume of nearly 200000 units and a domestic bus market share of over 80%.
Not only is it technologically advanced, but this achievement also deeply empowers green development, cumulatively helping to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 100 million tons. It has provided reliable green power for international top-level events such as the Beijing Winter Olympics and the Qatar World Cup, demonstrating China's commitment to power science and technology innovation.Editor/Yangmeiling
