The afternoon sun shone on the slopes of Tucheng Village in Yuduo Town, Qianxi City. The waist high sorghum stalks straightened their waist, and the broad leaves shone with a shiny oil. Suddenly, a buzzing sound of rotor rotation broke the silence of the field, and a crop protection drone loaded with pesticides flew up into the air, closely following the green gauze tent and flying at low altitude. The white mist dragged out of the fuselage instantly dispersed, and the fine medicinal solution evenly soaked every leaf like a gentle rain. This scene vividly depicts the upgrading of local sorghum management and protection.

Based on orders for sauce wine raw materials, Yuduo Town has promoted the planting of over 8000 acres of sorghum for red pearl wine this year, covering more than 2000 households. At present, it is the critical period from jointing to booting, and also the high incidence season of pests and diseases. In order to lay a solid foundation for the high yield of sorghum, the local agricultural technology department seized the opportunity during the farming season, introduced professional aerial defense forces, and used technological means to safeguard this "booming" industry.

Green prevention and control to ensure quality

Scientific medication is crucial during the "sprint" stage of sorghum growth. The technical personnel of the Rural Development Technology Service Center of the Agriculture and Rural Bureau of Qianxi City followed up throughout the process and accurately formulated a biopharmaceutical mixture of amino oligosaccharides and Bacillus subtilis based on the planting standards of organic sorghum. This "one spray, multiple prevention" model not only effectively reduces the number of diseases, but also promotes the robust growth of sorghum, fully meeting the strict requirements of green prevention and control. Drones shuttle at low altitude, evenly attaching fine droplets to the front and back of the leaves, greatly improving the prevention and control effect and fertilizer utilization rate, laying a solid foundation for the high-quality and stable production of sorghum for liquor use.

Emergency Response Terminal

The rapid implementation of this aerial defense operation cannot be separated from the efficient emergency response mechanism at the grassroots level. As one of the administrative villages with the largest planting area in the entire town, Tucheng Village has recently faced hidden dangers of pests and diseases caused by continuous rainy weather. Village officials transform into "field sentries" and conduct daily patrols. Once any abnormal signs are detected, they immediately collect public opinion and report the situation. The entire process takes less than two days, from public feedback to village level reporting, then to town government coordination with municipal departments, and finally to coordinating the entry of the air defense company for operations. This rapid response mechanism has timely opened up the "last mile" of serving the masses, nip the risk of disease and pest spread in the bud, and stabilized the hearts of the villagers.

Technology farming brings sweetness

Standing under the shade of trees by the edge of the field, the smile on the face of the plantation owner Li Benxiang was even brighter than the sunshine. This year, he planted 46 mu of sorghum. In retrospect, several people carried heavy spray and worked hard in the scorching sun all day. At most, they could only spray 10 mu of land, which was inefficient and exhausting. Nowadays, watching drones shuttle flexibly above one's own land, in less than an hour, all 46 acres of land have been completed. This efficient and uniform flying defense method allowed him to truly taste the sweetness of promoting agriculture through technology. Li Benxiang is full of confidence in this year's bountiful harvest, which is labor-saving, time-saving, and effortless.

As the last drone slowly landed, this 8000 acre sorghum field completed a new round of "physical examination" and "nourishment". Technology empowers agriculture, not only changing traditional farming methods, but also allowing farmers to see the vast prospects of modern agricultural development, injecting strong impetus into rural revitalization.Editor/Yang Meiling
