In the open airspace of the Nantong section of the Yangtze River, a drone loaded with meals and daily necessities took off from the dock and accurately completed the landing at an anchorage 2156 meters away in two and a half minutes. This marks the official landing of local ship drone delivery and opens a new industrial incision for Nantong's low altitude economy.
In the previous trial operation phase, the project has completed nearly 300 flights and served over a hundred docked vessels. The full process landing verification has cleared most of the practical obstacles for formal operation.

Anchor the river scene to complete the shortcomings of shipping services
The navigation density of the southern section of the Yangtze River is high, and there are a large number of ships anchored and waiting for dispatch all year round. Traditional supply relies on shore connection and small boat transportation, which not only takes a long time, but is also easily affected by the wind and waves on the river, interrupting services. There are obvious pain points for crew members in obtaining daily supplies for a long time.
The project that landed this time directly builds a three in one service system consisting of shore based hubs, air routes, and target ships, relying on the supply chain of mature commercial districts along the coast for stocking. Users can receive materials as quickly as one hour after placing orders online, completely connecting the last mile of river delivery.
Technological closed-loop support for continuous expansion of low altitude ecology
The entire delivery process has achieved full chain digital control, with AI system automatically planning the optimal route, combined with 5G and AR precise positioning technology, which can directly lock the ship delivery point and complete automatic throwing without manual on-site guidance. In the future, Nantong will also rely on this project to link the previously opened helicopter route from Nantong Port to Pudong, Shanghai, and create a distinctive low altitude base in Binjiang. Through our self-developed intelligent drone control platform, we are gradually expanding into more scenarios such as river surface inspections and emergency support, transforming single point logistics pilots into the core foundation supporting the large-scale growth of regional low altitude economies.Editor/Cheng Liting
