Senegal Water Minister Praises Rural Water Supply Phase 2 Project

As Senegal's grandest religious festival, the Magar Festival, approaches, the Senegalese Minister of Water Resources, Didier, and his delegation inspected the second phase of the rural well water supply project undertaken by CGCOC GROUP SENEGAL, focusing on the operation of two emergency water wells urgently built to ensure festival water supply, and highly praised the project team's efficient performance.

Emergency water well provides protection for festival water supply

Magar Festival is one of the most important religious festivals in Senegal, with millions of believers coming from various parts of Senegal and other West African countries to gather in the holy city of Touba. In order to effectively alleviate the water shortage during previous festivals in the Tuba region, CGCOC GROUP SENEGAL has carefully organized and deployed, and completed the construction of two emergency water wells with high quality, providing strong support for the water supply guarantee in the Tuba region.

Minister Diye stated during the inspection that the professional capabilities and rapid response mechanisms demonstrated by CGCOC are impressive. These two emergency water wells not only solve the urgent needs of the Tuba Festival, but also reflect CGCOC's profound understanding of Senegal's livelihood needs.

Phase II project helps modernize rural water supply

The second phase of the rural well drilling and water supply project inspected this time is a key project of China Serbia cooperation. The project will build 85 water wells, 89 water towers, 1450 kilometers of pipelines, and 300 centralized water supply points in remote villages in 13 major regions of Serbia. It will effectively improve the level of drinking water safety guarantee in remote areas of Serbia, create employment opportunities, and effectively promote local economic and social development. After the completion of the project, it will provide water security for more than 2 million people living in non urban areas and improve the quality of life of local residents.

Kang Yue, General Manager of CGCOC, introduced that in addition to emergency wells, the construction of the main water supply system is also being accelerated to ensure high-quality and timely completion of all project goals.

Fulfilling social responsibilities and deepening friendship between China and Serbia

During the Magar Festival, clear well water not only brings convenience to pilgrims, but also conveys the friendship between China and Serbia.
