The morning light spreads over the red soil of Abia state, and cassava leaves turn into green waves in the sea breeze. As the deep plowing machine with Chinese characters slowly enters the Umudikai base, this land that nurtures the most cassava in the world finally awaits the key to solving the dilemma of human race and natural harvest. The intervention of Chinese agricultural technology is ushering in an era of intensive cultivation for extensive planting.

Complete set of agricultural machinery delivered smoothly

China has delivered a complete set of cassava mechanization equipment to the National Root and Root Crop Research Institute of Nigeria, and the cooperation between the two countries in agricultural machinery and scientific research has made phased progress in harvesting. Nigeria's cassava production ranks first in the world, and the local area relies on Chinese agricultural machinery and technology to upgrade the cassava industry, consolidate food security, and promote the modernization of agriculture.

This batch of mechanical equipment has arrived at the Umudikai Research Base in Abia State, covering all processes of cassava cultivation. The equipment includes multiple models for deep plowing, rotary tillage, sowing, and specialized harvesting, providing a one-stop solution for land preparation, sowing, and harvesting. After the mechanical landing, it can compress the planting time of cassava, reduce labor costs, help local standardization and large-scale planting, and improve farmers' planting income.

Deep cultivation of bilateral scientific research cooperation

This equipment delivery is the result of long-term cooperation between the Chinese Academy of Thermal Sciences and the Nigen Stem Crop Research Institute, and the project is supported by the Hainan International Science and Technology Cooperation Special Project. For many years, both sides have been continuously carrying out cassava seed improvement and green planting technology research and development, organizing regular technical exchanges and local personnel skill training. At present, both sides are jointly building a Sino Nepalese cassava joint laboratory to jointly develop cassava varieties and full industry chain technologies that are suitable for the local area. Upgrading agricultural cooperation between China and Africa

Cassava is a core crop for Nigeria to ensure food security and develop agricultural product processing. The country's traditional artificial planting mode is backward, and there is huge room for improvement in yield and industrial value. The complete mechanization system can increase cassava yield per mu, reduce harvesting losses, and help the local cassava industry enhance its international competitiveness. Domestic agricultural machinery and equipment continue to explore the African market, and China Africa agricultural cooperation is no longer limited to technical assistance. It expands equipment output, joint scientific research, and diversified models of industrial chain construction, providing feasible solutions for the modernization of African agriculture.Editor/Gong Ziwei
