At the Kazakhstan China Business Forum held in Shanghai, Nurlan Jakpov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the "Samruk Kazena" National Welfare Fund Co., Ltd., stated that Kazakhstan and China will jointly build an intelligent transportation corridor across the Eurasian continent and promote the deep integration of digital technologies such as artificial intelligence with international logistics networks.

Jakpov stated that the competitiveness of transportation channels is no longer solely dependent on infrastructure construction, as data, digital platforms, and artificial intelligence are playing an increasingly important role. He said that the next stage of cooperation between the two sides will focus on building an intelligent transportation corridor, combining modern logistics networks with technologies such as artificial intelligence, big data, digital twins, and intelligent freight management to further enhance cross-border transportation efficiency.

At present, the two sides have built a comprehensive transportation and logistics system covering Lianyungang Port in China, Khorgos East Gate Dry Port, Xi'an Railway Port, Aktau Port and Almaty ZHETYSU Logistics Park. In 2027, Chengdu International Railway Port (Land Port) will officially join the network, further improving the international transportation channel from the Pacific coast of China to Europe via Kazakhstan and the Caspian Sea.

At the same time, the construction of transportation corridors will also be accompanied by a series of major infrastructure projects. After the completion of the Bakht Ayagoz railway, it will form the third cross-border railway channel between Kazakhstan and China, with an annual transportation capacity of up to 25 million tons. Yakpov stated that both sides will jointly promote the construction of the Trans Caspian International Transport Corridor (Middle Corridor) and turn it into one of the important international transport corridors of the 21st century.

In addition to the transportation and logistics field, "Samruk Cazena" has also carried out extensive cooperation with Chinese enterprises in the fields of energy, digitization, and industry. Samruk Kazena serves as the joint chairman unit of the Harbin China Entrepreneurs Committee, with CITIC Group as the Chinese joint chairman unit. During the last two committee meetings, the two sides have signed over 110 commercial cooperation documents with a total amount of approximately 20 billion US dollars, covering fields such as energy, transportation, digitization, and industry.Editor/Min Jing
