The 2026 meeting of the Advisory Committee of the the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation was held in Urumqi, Xinjiang, on the 17th. Focusing on the theme of "how to more effectively carry out international cooperation along the the Belt and Road" in the turbulent and intertwined international situation ", the Advisory Committee held in-depth discussions on grasping new opportunities to meet new challenges, deepening connectivity, strengthening international communication and other topics.

The members spoke highly of the world significance and era value of the joint construction of the "the Belt and Road", and believed that the joint construction of the "the Belt and Road" has provided resilience and growth potential for the world economy. It is suggested to comprehensively promote "hard connectivity", "soft connectivity" and "heart connectivity", actively carry out future oriented international cooperation in green low-carbon, digital economy, artificial intelligence and other fields, and continue to strengthen the international communication of the "the Belt and Road".

Former Egyptian Prime Minister Sharaf, former Pakistani Prime Minister Kakar and other members attended the meeting. China established the "the Belt and Road" International Cooperation Summit Forum Advisory Committee in 2018 as a non-profit and international policy advisory mechanism to provide intellectual support for the joint construction of the "the Belt and Road" international cooperation and the development of the Summit Forum.
