The Belo Horizonte rail transit in Brazil is undergoing a new transformation, and the old subway that has been in service for many years is about to be replaced. The local subway line has long had outdated equipment and limited capacity. The new subway train developed by CRRC Changke has officially started trial operation, injecting new momentum into the development of public transportation in this city.

New car hardcore test

This test run of the new train is the first of 24 locally purchased new subway trains. Prior to its launch, it has completed over 2100 technical inspections and more than 90 dynamic tests, covering core systems such as traction, braking, communication, and air conditioning, fully complying with local operating standards in Brazil. The new car is equipped with modern devices such as real-time passenger information systems and video surveillance, greatly improving ride comfort while optimizing line operation stability and maintenance efficiency. The remaining 23 new trains will be delivered gradually to replace old operating vehicles.

Iterative acceleration of urban rail transit

The population of the Belo Horizonte metropolitan area is about 2 million, and the development of rail transit is relatively lagging behind. For a long time, it has only relied on Line 1 of the subway for transportation. The first section of Line 2 of the subway was only opened in July this year. The total length of the city's rail transit network is about 30 kilometers, with a total of 22 stations. The Metro Line 1 has been in operation for 40 years since its launch in 1986, with prominent equipment aging issues.
