On July 24, András Voloscsuk—technical lead at Hongyu Aviation Technology (Wuxi) Co., Ltd. and Chairman of a Hungarian aviation composites company—traveled to the Yixing Dingshu General Aviation Industrial Park to personally oversee the final preparations for the aviation composite materials manufacturing project. Tasks ranging from equipment installation and commissioning to technical worker training, process localization, and order fulfillment planning are proceeding in a tightly coordinated, overlapping manner, laying a solid foundation for the project to enter full production by the end of August.

"Composite materials form the core structural framework for lightweighting in aviation. While the global aerospace composites market is experiencing double-digit growth, there remains a significant gap in the domestic supply of high-end, aviation-grade composites," explained Song Nanxiang, head of Hongyu Aviation. The project aims to introduce a complete European R&D system and airworthiness certification expertise to Yixing, establishing an integrated value chain that spans "cutting-edge overseas technology," "local engineering adaptation," and "mass export delivery." Once operational, the company will possess integrated capabilities covering R&D, mold manufacturing, composite molding, and complete airframe delivery. This will effectively fill the gap in local high-end aviation composite manufacturing in Yixing and propel the low-altitude economy from a focus on component supply to the R&D and manufacturing of core materials and complete aircraft.

According to the plan, the workshop will complete commissioning and officially enter production by the end of August; the first batch of self-developed composite products will roll off the line in October; and by 2027, the company’s self-developed aircraft airframes will be exported to the U.S. in volume, marking the regular export of Yixing’s high-end manufactured goods. Keywords: Aviation composites, low-altitude economy, global supply chain.

Notably, Hongyu Aviation is deeply integrating with Yixing’s local manufacturing resources, prioritizing the procurement of local raw materials and leveraging the cluster of over 40 enterprises within the low-altitude industry chain to continuously refine an industrial ecosystem that encompasses "basic materials, core components, complete aircraft assembly, and operations & maintenance services." András Voloscsuk stated that Hongyu Aviation plans to undertake global orders for composite components used in light aircraft, industrial drones, electric aircraft, and high-end automobiles. Simultaneously, the company will foster local technical talent and collaborate with universities to establish industry-academia-research platforms, bringing mature European lightweighting solutions to Yixing. Leveraging Yixing as a strategic hub, we are building a bridge for the Asia-Europe aviation composite materials industry, attracting a cluster of upstream and downstream projects, and injecting powerful momentum into the Yangtze River Delta’s low-altitude economy powerhouse. Editor/Sunyaxin
