On the shore of the Red Sea, the wind of Oman Dukum carries the salty taste of seawater, blowing through this awakening industrial land. A few days ago, several heavy bidding documents were solemnly submitted to the project bidding office, breaking the calm here. This is not just a competition of a few papers, but also a fierce competition among multiple international engineering companies for a rising Middle East light hydrocarbon storage and transportation hub. With the entry of the documents, a key piece of Oman's national energy strategy - the construction of the Dukum Natural Gas Liquid (NGL) storage and export facilities - has officially moved from a blueprint to a practical stage.

Open up the sea artery

This bidding is not an isolated project, but a core supporting module separated from OQ Group's massive national level NGL integration project. The project will precisely focus on the urgent needs of the industry, lay dedicated process pipelines, and ensure the closed transportation of light hydrocarbon products in the factory area, which not only ensures safety but also improves efficiency. At the same time, the project will construct large-scale specialized low-temperature storage tanks to provide long-term stable homes for media such as propane, butane, and condensate oil. The most crucial focus is on the sea, as the project will seamlessly connect with the liquid berth at Dukum Port, creating a fast track from the source to the cabin, completely solving the problem of export.

Building an industrial closed loop

The strategic value of this project goes far beyond just a few storage tanks. It is located at the core of Oman's energy upgrade plan, relying on the advantageous location of the Dukum Special Economic Zone to cleverly connect the Saih Nihaida NGL extraction plant with the Dukum fractionation unit. This layout will form a complete closed loop of raw material mining, fine processing, warehousing and transportation to overseas exports. The first phase of the project has the ability to process millions of tons of light hydrocarbons annually, continuously producing high-quality petrochemical raw materials such as ethane and propane. This not only solidifies the confidence of Oman's domestic petrochemical industry, but also gives Oman stronger bargaining power in the global energy supply chain.

Anchoring the future of transformation

As a key milestone for Oman to break free from its reliance on a single energy source and achieve diversified transformation, the construction of this storage and transportation facility will completely break through the export bottleneck of the downstream natural gas industry. Relying on the long-term gas supply agreement of OQ Group and the logistics advantages of Dukum Port, the project will enter a long-term stable commercialization cycle after being put into operation, becoming an important pillar for Oman to increase income and earn foreign exchange. keywords:New energy information network

In the future, with the continuous transportation of high-quality light hydrocarbons from here to the world, Dukum's position as an emerging energy storage and transportation hub will become increasingly stable, and Oman's voice in the global natural gas and liquid trade map will also be reshaped as a result.Editor/Yang Meiling
