Envoys from multiple countries and representatives of the United Nations gathered in Beijing to jointly participate in the high-level meeting on the fifth anniversary of the Global Development Initiative. Wang Yi delivered a speech on site, comprehensively assessing the effectiveness of the initiative's implementation, facing the current global development gap, proposing a multi-party collaborative action path, and sending a clear signal to deepen international development cooperation.

Five years of fruitful cooperation

Since its proposal five years ago, the Global Development Initiative has been transformed into a broad international consensus. At present, more than 130 countries and international organizations are participating in cooperation, and nearly a hundred entities have signed cooperation documents. All parties have mobilized over 23 billion US dollars in funds, implemented more than 1800 cooperative projects, trained over 200000 talents, and benefited people from more than 120 countries.

Joining hands to promote development together

The current global development challenges are prominent. Wang Yi proposed four directions for cooperation, advocating for creating a peaceful environment, implementing the 2030 Agenda, strengthening innovation cooperation, and improving global governance. China expresses its commitment to continue contributing to global development, relying on its own steady development, promoting the implementation of global development initiatives, and advancing the construction of a community with a shared future for mankind.Editor/Min Jing
