The whistle rings long and the wheels roll. At the Gansu (Lanzhou) International Land Port, train driver Mr. Wang stared at the tracks ahead and lightly pushed the control lever. This newly launched train carries a special mission in his career - to safely transport 1210 tons of "white gold" from Lanzhou Petrochemical to Warsaw, Poland, thousands of miles away. For this driver who is used to running domestic routes, this is not only a geographical leap, but also a historic moment for him to witness the "going global" of his hometown's industry firsthand.

In the past, Lanzhou Petrochemical's chemical products often relied on scattered sea freight consolidation to enter the European market, which not only made it difficult to guarantee delivery time, but also greatly limited the cargo volume. Now, with the start of this train, everything has changed.
Say goodbye to scattered and explore new paths
For a long time, domestic polyolefin production capacity has been continuously released, and industry competition has become increasingly fierce. Faced with challenges, Lanzhou Petrochemical has chosen to move towards the "high" direction and set its sights on the vast European market. The biggest significance of this departure is to completely change the previous export dilemma of single category and sporadic batches. 55 carriages are loaded with 10 varieties of high-quality chemical products, all of which are packaged in standardized export packaging and strictly comply with international trade rules. This is not only a simple transportation of goods, but also a strategic transformation of enterprises from passive order receiving to active layout, which has cast a key role in deepening the market along the the Belt and Road.
Westward travel accelerates by more than half
This train departs from Lanzhou, exits through Alashankou, passes through Kazakhstan, Russia, Belarus, and finally arrives in Poland. Compared with traditional land sea intermodal transportation, the advantages of this steel dragon are obvious. The entire journey is direct without the need for transfer, and there is no need for diversion during transportation, greatly simplifying the logistics process. The data shows that thanks to the improvement of customs clearance efficiency and optimization of transportation routes, the overall delivery cycle has been shortened by more than 50%. This qualitative leap in supply timeliness and stability has given Lanzhou Petrochemical a more reliable performance guarantee in the international market competition.

Multi party linkage through arteries
This milestone breakthrough is not a solo effort by the enterprise, but a vivid portrayal of the integrated development of the enterprise and the local area. Relying on the geographical advantage of Lanzhou as a hub on the Silk Road, an efficient linkage mechanism has been formed among local governments, Chinese petroleum, railway departments, customs, and land port operators. All parties broke down barriers and worked together to clear blockages, successfully opening up a stable land route to the hinterland of the Eurasian continent. This not only fills the gap in the normalized export of high-end chemical products by land in the region, but also extends the brand influence of "Made in Lanzhou" along the railway to the hinterland of Europe, achieving mutual promotion and progress in channels, logistics, economy and trade, and industry.Editor/Yang Meiling
