The new power infrastructure in Wuhai, Inner Mongolia has officially started, and the 500 kV pumped storage and transmission project has broken ground. The terrain along the route is complex, crossing multiple important transportation water systems, and passing through ecological protection areas. The construction difficulty and environmental standards are extremely high, making it a key project for regional energy upgrading.

Recently, the Wuhai Pumped Storage 500 kV Transmission Project in Inner Mongolia has entered the comprehensive construction phase. The starting point of the line is the under construction pumped storage power station at Gander Mountain in Haibowan District, Wuhai, and the endpoint is connected to a 500 kV substation in Hainan. The total length of the line is 56.307 kilometers, and 136 new iron towers will be built. The project only uses double circuit iron towers for the incoming and outgoing lines of the substation, while the rest of the sections are installed with single circuit iron towers.
The construction environment of this line is extremely complex, with multiple crossings of the Great Wall, high-speed railways, electrified railways, highways, rivers, and multiple power lines along the way. At the same time, it passes through the Sihemu Protection Zone, which imposes strict requirements on construction technology and ecological protection.
