Beside the ancient BRICS road in Samarkand, an industrial inspection team from China is standing still and looking into the distance. Recently, executives from Uzmetkombinat, a state-owned steel company in Uzbekistan, crossed mountains and seas and signed a profound memorandum of cooperation in the reception room of Baigong Steel in Qinhuangdao, China. This agreement not only concerns the future of the two companies, but also touches the pulse of upgrading the entire steel industry chain in Uzbekistan.

Lock in the three core mineral sources
The primary task of cooperation is to solve the "food and forage" problem in Uzbekistan's steel industry. According to the agreement, both parties will jointly develop the Tebenbuloq deposit located in Karakalpakstan, the Temirkon deposit in Jizak Oblast, and the Zakkan deposit in Surkhan River Oblast. The development of these three major mineral deposits will completely change the long-term fluctuation of raw material supply faced by Uzmetkombinat. In the future, both sides will jointly conduct detailed mineral reserve assessments, introduce mature modern mining technologies from China, and build strong raw material processing capabilities in the local area. This is not only the excavation of resources, but also the creation of a long-term, stable, and independent steel 'granary' for Uzbekistan.

Upgrade the steel manufacturing system
With a stable raw material foundation, industrial upgrading will come naturally. This cooperation does not stop at mining development, but extends its tentacles to the field of steel deep processing. Both parties have focused on planning a blueprint to expand the production scale of flat products, committed to introducing China's advanced production technology and manufacturing experience. More noteworthy is that both sides have delved into the possibility of introducing blast furnace technology into local enterprises in Uzbekistan. If this measure can be implemented, it will greatly improve the efficiency and quality of local steel smelting, lay a solid foundation for the production of high value-added metal products, and promote the transformation of Ukrainian steel products from primary building materials to high-end industrial materials.keywords:Engineering infrastructure

Deepen the industrial synergy between China and Ukraine
For Uzmetkombinat, this partnership with Baigong Steel is a crucial step in strengthening resource control and enhancing product competitiveness. For Baigong Steel, this is not only an expansion of overseas business, but also another practice of China's steel technology, equipment, and standards going global. With the deepening of cooperation, both parties will establish a solid framework for cooperation in mining projects, flat material production, and other potential investment areas. This marks that China Uzbekistan metallurgical cooperation is moving from the past single point technical exchange to a new stage of deep integration of resource development, industrial investment and supply chain coordination, injecting strong impetus into the modernization of Uzbekistan's metal industry, and adding a new vivid footnote to the the Belt and Road production capacity cooperation.Editor/Yang Meiling
