In the early morning, Lake Issyk Kul shimmered with waves, and boats sliced through the azure waters. Tourists from all over the world were enjoying the tranquility of the 'Sun Lake' on the shore. However, in this land known as Kyrgyzstan's "national calling card", local residents and practitioners have long faced a hidden concern: with the surge of tourists, the old sewage treatment facilities are unable to support the increasingly large tourism industry. Now, this hidden worry is being dispelled by roaring Chinese devices. At the site of the modern sewage treatment facility constructed by China Road and Bridge Engineering Co., Ltd., workers are working hard under the scorching sun. The civil engineering project is already halfway through, two months ahead of the original plan.

Progress is two months ahead of schedule

As the core tourism area of Kyrgyzstan, the city of Chorponatah and several surrounding villages along Lake Issyk Kul are under tremendous environmental pressure all year round. This project has been highly anticipated since its inception. At present, the construction site is busy, and the earthwork and main structure construction are steadily advancing. Thanks to efficient construction organization, the overall progress has been significantly advanced compared to the original plan, and the completion date is expected to be adjusted from July 25, 2027 to April of the same year. This adjustment is highly strategic, just in time for the start of the peak tourism season each year, ensuring that the new system is officially put into operation before the peak passenger flow arrives, and building the first line of defense for the ecological environment of the lake area.

Benefiting 100000 people

This project, with a total investment of 64.9 million dollars, is funded by the Asian Development Bank. CRBC, relying on its rich experience along the "the Belt and Road", undertakes general contracting. The daily sewage treatment capacity of the project design reaches 14200 cubic meters, and the service scope covers about 100000 people. This not only means that the city center of Giorpon Ata, along with surrounding villages such as Bostri, Bakitu Dolonotu, and Karaoi, will bid farewell to the history of direct sewage discharge, but also all the resorts, sanatoriums, and public institutions scattered throughout the region will be connected to this new underground pipeline network. At that time, the clear lake water will no longer be troubled by domestic sewage, and the quality of life of local residents and the travel experience of tourists will be simultaneously improved.

Realize the transformation of waste into treasure

Unlike the outdated process that relied solely on mechanical treatment in the past, this project introduces internationally advanced biological wastewater treatment technology. This' Chinese solution 'can skyrocket the sewage purification rate to 98%, and the effluent quality will far exceed existing standards. More forward-looking is that the project implements the concept of circular economy.
