In the Changsha Industrial Park of New Railway Construction Heavy Industry, a large robot has just completed its "factory test". With the final instruction for final assembly and debugging, this "big guy" specially designed for the Singapore MRT cross island line has been successfully launched and is about to cross the ocean and head to the front line of construction in Southeast Asia. Its mission is to solve the installation problem of prefabricated components weighing several tons inside large diameter tunnels. In the past, such operations often relied heavily on manual labor for lifting, which not only limited efficiency but also posed safety risks. Now, the arrival of this intelligent device will completely rewrite this situation.

Millimeter level precise alignment
The middle partition wall and flue plate in large-diameter tunnels are large in size and heavy in weight, making it difficult for traditional equipment to balance efficiency and accuracy. The robot is equipped with a finely adjustable robotic arm with 8 degrees of freedom, coupled with a high torque hydraulic actuator, as if fitting flexible joints to heavy prefabricated parts. During the homework process, the robotic arm can automatically locate and achieve millimeter level precision alignment. Compared to traditional manual assisted lifting, the overall construction efficiency has been improved by more than 30%, and the assembly quality is stable, no longer affected by worker proficiency or physical fluctuations. The installation of each component is as standard as copying and pasting.
Trackless and flexible travel
The interior space of the tunnel is narrow, and construction vehicles frequently come and go. Traditional equipment often requires the laying of dedicated tracks, which is not only time-consuming but also takes up space. This robot innovatively adopts a fully tracked high leg self-propelled chassis, which can flexibly walk and turn in narrow tunnel environments without laying tracks. Even more cleverly, the design team has reserved ample space for vehicle passage at the bottom of the device. This means that while the robot is performing assembly operations, other construction vehicles supporting the shield can still smoothly pass underneath without interfering with each other, greatly optimizing the construction organization and logistics efficiency inside the tunnel.

Green safety barrier
Singapore has extremely strict environmental and safety standards for urban construction. In response to this demand, the R&D team has equipped the robot with a "smart brain" and a "green heart". The device integrates multiple sensing systems such as attitude monitoring, load control, and panoramic collision warning, which can perceive working conditions in real time, predict risks, and intervene in misoperations in a timely manner, building a comprehensive safety defense line. At the same time, the equipment innovation adopts a large capacity lithium battery drive, completely bidding farewell to the hidden dangers of diesel exhaust and cable dragging, achieving zero emissions and low noise throughout the operation, perfectly fitting the construction concept of Singapore's green subway.keywords:Engineering infrastructure
