On August 10, 2026, Consul General Xu Min met with the Governor of Alexandria, Ayman Atiyah, at the Alexandria Provincial Government to exchange views on economic and trade cooperation, cultural exchanges, and friendly city exchanges.   

Consul General Xu Min stated that under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, China Egypt relations have become a model of friendly coexistence, unity and cooperation among developing countries. Alexandria is a historic city and cultural capital of Egypt, and the second largest city in Egypt. China attaches great importance to developing relations with the province of Alexandria. 2026 marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Egypt. The Consulate General is willing to work with Asia Province to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, deepen local cooperation and cultural exchanges, promote people to people exchanges, and help build a China Egypt community with a shared future for the new era.  

Eman stated that Egypt and China have a traditional friendship and a solid foundation for cooperation. Asia Province is willing to learn from China's advanced experience in urban construction and environmental pollution control, deepen practical cooperation in clean energy, maritime, logistics and other fields, and create a favorable environment for Chinese enterprises to invest and develop locally.Editor/Min Jing
