On the vast grasslands in the northern part of Bayannur City, a highway connecting the north and south of the city with border ports has officially started comprehensive construction. The construction of the G0616 Wulashan to Hailiutu section of the highway has written a key chapter in the transportation infrastructure layout of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region during the 15th Five Year Plan period.

Comprehensive acceleration of port channel construction

This high-speed project with a total investment of 6 billion yuan is a key transportation project of the 15th Five Year Plan at the national and autonomous region levels. The total length of the route is 87.501 kilometers, and it adopts a construction standard of 100 kilometers per hour. Along the way, it passes through Urad Middle Banner in Wuyuan County, Urad Front Banner, and finally smoothly connects with the completed G0616 Phase I project. As the core trunk line connecting the north and south of Bayannur City, it directly connects the fast transportation artery from Wulashan area to Ganqimaodu Port, filling the gap in the connection of high-grade north-south highways in the region.

Continuous release of cross-border radiation value

After the project is completed and put into use, the main road network system in Bayannur City will be further improved, and the interconnected transportation pattern of border ports will also be significantly optimized. This expressway will greatly improve the freight traffic efficiency of Ganqi Maodu Port, reduce the time and logistics costs of cross-border transportation between China and Mongolia, open up new exports for the industrial circulation of the flags and counties along the line, and also provide solid land transportation support for the high-quality construction of the the Belt and Road and the China Mongolia Russia Economic Corridor.
