Recently, the State Administration for Market Regulation of China officially announced a heavyweight news: the proposal of "Technical Specification for Data Center Microgrid Monitoring and Energy Management System" submitted by China to the International Electrotechnical Commission has been successfully approved. This is the world's first IEC international standard focused on the field of data center computing collaboration. From proposal to project approval, Chinese experts served as project leaders and worked together with experts from France, Germany, Spain and other countries to polish, marking China's official deep leadership in international rule making in the field of global computing collaboration.

Standard approved project proposal

The standard proposal submitted by China to the International Electrotechnical Commission has recently been successfully approved, becoming the world's first IEC international standard focused on the field of data center computer collaboration. Chinese experts serve as project leaders, leading the overall framework and technical system, with industry experts from France, Germany, Spain, and other countries participating together, gathering high-quality global technical resources and industry experience. This standard accurately meets the development needs of the industry, taking into account the flexible and adjustable characteristics of computing power load and the safe and stable operation laws of the power system, and building a complete technical specification system covering the entire life cycle of data center planning, construction, and operation.

Fill the global standard gap

The rapid rise of the integrated development model of data centers and microgrids has achieved dynamic linkage between computing power task scheduling and power supply by integrating clean power sources such as photovoltaic power generation and energy storage systems. However, there has been a long-term lack of unified standards in the field of global data center computing collaboration, and there are no standardized guidelines for industry development. The new standard proposes unified technical requirements for key links such as joint scheduling of power supply and computing resources. In the early design stage of the project, predictive evaluation can be carried out for the collaborative optimization of computing and electricity. In the acceptance and grid connection stage, it serves as compliance monitoring. After being put into operation, it provides authoritative technical basis for energy efficiency improvement and equipment diagnosis, completely changing the chaotic development of computing and electricity integration scenarios without standards or specifications. China leads international rules

This time, China is leading the development of the world's first IEC international standard in the field of computing power collaboration, which will systematically solve the industry problem of joint monitoring of computing power and electricity, and energy management without a basis, filling the global standard gap. It plays a strong leading role in promoting the green and low-carbon transformation of the global computing power industry, enhancing the level of energy digital integration development, and regulating industry order. The implementation of standards led by China and jointly built by multiple countries not only helps to save energy, increase efficiency, and promote green upgrading of global data centers, but also significantly enhances China's international discourse and rule leadership in the field of digital energy, and outputs mature Chinese technology solutions for the integrated development of global energy digitization and computing power industrialization. With the comprehensive implementation, promotion, and iterative optimization of standards, the global computer collaboration field will officially enter a new stage of development characterized by standardization, refinement, and low carbonization.Editor/Gao Xue
