Recently, Hou Qijun, Chairman of Sinopec, led a team to Changchun to hold talks with key officials from the Jilin Provincial Party Committee and Government. Songliao Base is included in the national strategy

The Songliao Basin Oil and Gas Strategic Support Base has been included in the national key construction layout system. According to the plan, the Songliao Basin will orderly promote the construction of key production capacity projects such as Changyuan Block, Southern Block, and Gulong Shale Oil, accelerate the development process of natural gas production capacity such as Xushen, and continuously enhance the regional oil and gas reserve replacement capacity and total production scale. The 15th Five Year Plan for Industrial Development in Jilin Province is effectively aligned with the national energy strategy, placing energy security in an important position, systematically laying out the entire industry chain of wind solar hydrogen storage, and cultivating emerging industries such as green hydrogen, green ammonia, and green methanol. At the national level, the focus is on the construction of oil and gas production capacity, while at the local level, the emphasis is on optimizing the industrial structure. Dual line integration of oil, gas, and hydrogen energy

Hou Qijun clarified that the enterprise will focus on the high-quality development of the 15th Five Year Plan for entrepreneurship, rely on technological iteration and capacity structure optimization, continuously improve regional oil and gas production equivalent, and perfect the integrated supporting system of oil and gas production, transportation, and reserve in Northeast China. The western part of Jilin Province is rich in large-scale wind power and photovoltaic resources, and has inherent conditions for the large-scale development of green hydrogen, green ammonia, and green methanol industries. Sinopec will focus on promoting the construction of a full chain system for green hydrogen production, storage, and transportation, exploring diverse application scenarios such as natural gas hydrogen blending, industrial green hydrogen substitution, and hydrogen energy transportation demonstration in an orderly manner, and promoting the deep coupling between traditional oil and gas petrochemical industries and new energy industries.
