The the Pearl River is surging, and a top-level dialogue about the future of South China's energy is quietly launched. As traditional petrochemical giants and leading provinces at the forefront of reform and opening up head towards each other, the ballast stone for oil and gas supply and the accelerator for the new energy track intersect here, and a new industrial landscape of green transformation is slowly unfolding.

Government and enterprises join hands to seek cooperation

Hou Qijun, Chairman of Sinopec, paid a visit to Huang Kunming, Secretary of the Guangdong Provincial Party Committee, in Guangzhou. As a major province in terms of economy and energy consumption, Guangdong will build a clean and low-carbon new energy system during the 15th Five Year Plan period, consolidate oil and gas supply, promote the upgrading of refining and upgrading, layout new formats such as hydrogen energy and offshore energy, and improve the overall energy infrastructure.

Sinopec has long been rooted in Guangdong to ensure local energy supply. Guangdong hopes to leverage the advantages of the central enterprise industrial chain to strengthen the refining, reserve, high-end petrochemical, and new energy sectors, optimize the business environment, and support the implementation of central enterprise projects. The well-developed industrial conditions in Guangdong are also an important pivot for Sinopec to implement its 15th Five Year Plan strategy. The enterprise will stabilize the supply of oil and gas, promote the transformation of refining, lay out new materials and new energy, participate in county-level energy construction, and achieve a win-win situation for local enterprises.

Enterprise Strategy in South China

This layout is a local practice of Sinopec's 15th Five Year Plan strategy, and the enterprise is reshaping its industrial system with secondary entrepreneurship as the main line. Establish a pattern of one foundation, two wings, three chains, and four new industries, taking into account the upgrading of traditional industries and breakthroughs in the four emerging fields, in line with the direction of national oil and gas planning.

Implementing the six major development strategies and tasks, relying on innovation driven, green transformation, resource guarantee, and reform and quality improvement, shifting from scale expansion to green quality and efficiency development. The top-level design of enterprises highly matches the development needs of Guangdong, and the two-way empowerment of local enterprises will become the norm for the development of the petrochemical industry in South China.

Analyze the new trends in the industry

Compared with relevant plans and enterprise layouts, South China will become a demonstration area for the transformation of the petrochemical industry. Continuously strengthening the construction of oil and gas supply and reserve, enhancing Guangdong's energy security resilience; Refining and chemical industry abandons extensive expansion and transforms towards high-end new materials and low-carbon chemical industry; Accelerating the integration of oil and gas with new energy to create a multi energy complementary model; The focus of industry competition has shifted towards scientific and technological innovation capabilities, with technological innovation becoming the core competitiveness.Editor/Gong Ziwei
