It was revealed at the meeting that the 26th China International Investment Fair will be held in Xiamen, Fujian Province from September 8th to 11th.

Ling Ji, spokesperson for the Ministry of Commerce, Vice Minister and Deputy Representative for International Trade Negotiations, introduced that this year's Investment and Trade Fair has set up "dual guest countries" for the first time, with Finland and Saudi Arabia serving as guests of honor.

He introduced separately that China and Finland have established a new type of cooperative partnership for the future, which is an important positioning of the bilateral relationship between China and Finland. China is Finland's largest trading partner in Asia and its fourth largest trading partner globally. Last year, the bilateral trade volume exceeded 8 billion US dollars, and the two-way investment stock exceeded 23 billion US dollars. Secondly, although Finland has a population of only over 5 million, it ranks among the top innovative countries in the world. Strong technological innovation capabilities, open, efficient, and stable business environment. Finland has rich practices and mature concepts in the fields of clean energy, circular economy, energy conservation and emission reduction. Both parties have created multiple demonstration projects in areas such as technological innovation, standard co construction, and industrial collaboration. We are willing to strengthen dialogue and cooperation with the Finnish side through the Investment and Trade Fair platform, explore the potential for cooperation in green and low-carbon, pharmaceutical research and development, smart health, artificial intelligence and other fields, and further enhance the quality of innovation cooperation between China and Finland.

In addition, China and Saudi Arabia have established a comprehensive strategic partnership. In recent years, the two heads of state have maintained close communication and pointed out the direction for cooperation between China and Saudi Arabia. China is Saudi Arabia's largest trading partner, and Saudi Arabia is China's largest trading partner in the Arab region. Saudi Arabia is also the main source of China's energy imports, with bilateral trade exceeding 100 billion US dollars for four consecutive years. The achievements in two-way investment are also quite significant. Saudi investment institutions are optimistic about China's economic development prospects and have extensive investments in petrochemical, high-tech, new energy, commerce, culture and other fields. At the same time, Chinese companies actively invest and develop in Saudi Arabia, and have built a large number of projects in the fields of petrochemicals, new energy, steel, manufacturing, etc. As of the end of last year, China's direct investment stock in Saudi Arabia reached 4.26 billion US dollars. It can be said that China and Saudi Arabia have aligned development strategies, similar development concepts, and complementary development advantages. Saudi Arabia is sending a large-scale economic delegation to attend the Investment and Trade Fair for the first time and serving as the guest of honor. China believes this is a very good opportunity to deepen investment cooperation between China and Saudi Arabia.
