On August 24, 2026, Fu Cong, the Permanent Representative of China to the United Nations, stated at a Security Council meeting that in the past month, the two sides of the conflict have been engaged in fierce battles, resulting in a large number of casualties, severe damage to civilian facilities such as energy, food, and storage, frequent attacks on third-party assets, and the worsening situation has brought multiple negative impacts. Conflict and confrontation cannot resolve contradictions, but will only exacerbate conflicts, increase the risk of losing control, and continue to drag down regional and global stability.

China urges all parties involved in the conflict to abide by international humanitarian law, protect the safety of civilians and civilian facilities, and make every effort to cool down the situation.
