In the automated unmanned terminal of Xi'an International Port Station, containers are accurately positioned and loaded under the dispatch of unmanned equipment. Since the first Chang'an Express departed in 2013, the total number of China Europe freight trains operated in Xi'an has exceeded 35000, and its core indicators have remained the top in the country for 8 consecutive years. This inland hub is completing a key transformation from scale expansion to quality upgrading.

Achieving a systematic leap in operational quality and efficiency

In the first half of 2026, the China Europe freight train Xi'an will operate a total of 3310 natural trains, including 2858 trains in the China Europe direction and 452 trains in the Central Asia direction, a year-on-year increase of 8.3%. The total weight of goods transported will be 3.753 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 6.2%, and the overall operation will maintain steady growth. By optimizing the organization and scheduling of train services, the transportation capacity of each section of the rail sea rail intermodal transport has been accurately matched, and the total operating time of the cross Caspian sea train has been reduced from 20 days to about 15 days. A total of 145 trains have been operated within the year.

The entire timetable has been expanded to three routes, namely Xi'an to Duisburg, Xi'an to Budapest, Xi'an to Prague, with a stable frequency of 6 to 3 trips per week. The intelligent station project of Xi'an International Port Station has been officially put into use, and the level of intelligent management of the station has been greatly improved. The customs comprehensive inspection site has passed the acceptance, and the overall functional support capacity of the port continues to strengthen.

The sustained release of industrial driving effects

Relying on the expanded 18 Eurasian trunk lines and 26 domestic assembly lines, combined with 6 rail sea intermodal trains connecting coastal ports such as Qingdao and Ningbo, Xi'an Port has formed a modern logistics system of inland assembly, land sea linkage, and global distribution.

Through the diversified mode of exporting automotive parts through bulk trade and cross-border e-commerce in Banjia, the local foreign trade scale continues to expand, and the production capacity of Keppel's supporting packaging equipment project in Geely's KD parts project is steadily released. In the first half of 2026, the China Europe freight train Xi'an completed an import and export volume of 39.29 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 4.7%.
