On August 26, 2026, Consul General Liu Jun in Erbil met with the Governor of Erbil Province in Iraq, Omed, to exchange views on exchanges and cooperation between the two sides.

Liu Jun said that in recent years, the cooperation between the two sides in various fields has continued to deepen and consolidate, and the high-quality joint construction of the "the Belt and Road" has achieved fruitful results. More and more Chinese enterprises have invested in Erbil Province, and Chinese brand new energy vehicles are all over the streets. I hope the provincial government will continue to optimize the business environment, introduce more policies that benefit enterprises and the people, and create better conditions for Chinese enterprises.
