The 2026 China Central and Eastern European Countries Innovation Cooperation Conference will be held on the 9th in Ningbo, Zhejiang. China Central and Eastern European countries have established a multi-level innovation cooperation system, including 13 countries with intergovernmental science and technology cooperation agreements, 13 countries with joint committee mechanisms, and 12 countries with joint research funding mechanisms.

In addition, scientific and technological innovation cooperation achievements between China and Central and Eastern European countries continue to emerge. 11 the Belt and Road joint laboratories, multiple professional platforms, industrial parks, etc. have been established, and the number of cooperation papers, cross-border patent applications, multi-level cultural exchanges, etc. continue to increase.

The 2026 China Central and Eastern European Countries Innovation Cooperation Conference is jointly hosted by the Ministry of Science and Technology of China and the Ministry of Economy of Slovakia, with the theme of "Ten Years of Innovation, Building the Future Together". As the highest level and largest brand event in the field of science and technology under the cooperation mechanism between China and Central and Eastern European countries, the conference has been successfully held for 5 sessions in China, Slovakia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and other places, effectively promoting policy dialogue, joint research, personnel exchange, technology cooperation and industry university research docking.

Vice Minister of Science and Technology Zhang Guangjun stated that 10 years ago, we established the China Central and Eastern European Countries Innovation Cooperation Conference as a collaborative mechanism of consultation, joint construction, and sharing. Over the past decade, our cooperation in scientific and technological innovation has become increasingly mature, and our internal driving force has continued to strengthen. Standing at a new starting point, China is willing to work with Central and Eastern European countries to adhere to openness, inclusiveness, mutual benefit and win-win cooperation, and promote China Central and Eastern European countries' scientific and technological innovation cooperation to a higher level.

The 2026 China Central and Eastern European Countries Innovation Cooperation Conference also released the 2026 China (City) Central and Eastern European Countries Open Innovation Cooperation Index, the "China Central and Eastern European Countries Innovation Cooperation 10 Year Report", and launched the second China Central and Eastern European Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, signing 11 industry university research cooperation and platform co construction agreements.
