The wind turbines on the grasslands of Ordos rotate at a constant speed in the autumn wind, and the continuous photovoltaic panels spread out into a blue ocean in the desert. On September 9th, the cumulative settlement of new energy in the Inner Mongolia electricity multilateral trading market officially exceeded 509.58 billion kilowatt hours, crossing the 500 billion kilowatt hour mark and continuing to lead the national provincial-level green electricity trading market.
From January to August 2026, the new energy power generation in Inner Mongolia reached 191.2 billion kilowatt hours, a year-on-year increase of 22.7%. The number of hours of green electricity consumption and utilization ranked first in the national provincial power grid. This vast land is continuously delivering stable green electricity to the whole country.

Nearly 60% of new energy installed capacity
During the 14th Five Year Plan period, Inner Mongolia Electric Power has built a strong four horizontal and six vertical power grid with 500 kV as the backbone and 220 kV as the radiation. Since 2026, major power grid projects such as the Houhe Second Line have been implemented, adding 2.07 million kilowatts of new energy acceptance capacity to places such as Bayannur and Ordos. The construction and management section of the Dalat Mengxi 1000 kV high-voltage AC project has officially started, and the construction of the transmission channel for the Shagehuang large base continues to accelerate. As of the end of August 2026, the installed capacity of new energy in Inner Mongolia's power grid has reached 107 million kilowatts, accounting for 57.7% of the region's total installed capacity, including 59.2 million kilowatts of photovoltaic installed capacity and 47.8 million kilowatts of wind power installed capacity. The wind solar ratio continues to be optimized.
Cross provincial green power transmission covers 13 provinces, regions and municipalities
In the first half of this year, the total power generation of the entire grid was 216.76 billion kilowatt hours, with the highest proportion of new energy daily power generation reaching 60.1%. On May 9th, the proportion of new energy instantaneous output exceeded 85.3%, and over 80% of the electricity in the entire grid was supplied by wind and solar power. From January to August, the total trading volume of green electricity in Inner Mongolia reached 66.26 billion kilowatt hours, ranking first in the provincial market in China. Among them, inter provincial green electricity transmission reached 3.71 billion kilowatt hours, a year-on-year increase of 428%, covering 13 provinces, regions and cities across the country. Inter provincial spot sales of electricity reached 558 million kilowatt hours, 19 times that of the same period last year.

Relying on the first provincial-level grid green power full chain traceability system in China, all external green power can achieve full traceability of environmental value, and more than 230 industrial enterprises and data centers outside the district have cumulatively purchased green power from Inner Mongolia.
