Recently, Wang Hongzhi, Director of the National Energy Administration of China, met with Ali Shahbana, Executive Secretary of the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (APEC), in Beijing. The two sides had in-depth exchanges of views on topics such as energy transformation in the Asia Pacific region and energy cooperation between China and the APEC.
Wang Hongzhi stated that the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) is the largest intergovernmental organization of the United Nations in the Asia Pacific region. With the support of multi-level cooperation mechanisms such as the Asia Pacific Energy Ministers' Forum, it has played a positive role in maintaining global energy market stability and accelerating regional energy transformation. China attaches great importance to strategic cooperation with the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) and will continue to support its various work and conference activities in the field of energy. China will actively participate in and share its experience in green and low-carbon development, contribute its wisdom and strength, and support the sustainable development of energy in the Asia Pacific region.
Ali Shahbana praised the fruitful achievements of China's energy transformation and development, and introduced the recent major event arrangements of the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation. She emphasized that ESCAP attaches great importance to energy cooperation with China and looks forward to deepening cooperation with China to jointly assist in the green and low-carbon transformation of the Asia Pacific region, injecting lasting new momentum into regional sustainable development.Editor/Min Jing
