On September 16, 2026, Ambassador Rumei accompanied Azerbaijani President Aliyev to attend the grid connection ceremony of the Gobstan 100 MW photovoltaic power plant project invested and constructed by Chinese enterprise Shanghai Huantai Energy Company. After the project is put into operation, the annual power generation will reach 200 million kWh, reducing carbon emissions by about 90000 tons per year, which will help promote the development of renewable energy in Afghanistan.

China is an important participant, contributor, and leader in the global development of renewable energy, and has built the largest, most complete, and competitive clean energy industry chain in the country. The green development concepts of China and Arab countries are highly compatible, and the cooperation in the green energy industry has achieved a series of important results.
