Chinese Firms Boost Vietnam Infrastructure Cooperation at ASEAN Expo

The 23rd China ASEAN Expo was successfully held in Nanning, becoming an important platform for deep integration between Chinese and Vietnamese governments and enterprises. CCCC、CEEC、 Huawei's three core companies held special talks with Vietnamese executives, focusing on the three major areas of cross-border railways, energy, and digital infrastructure, accurately matching Vietnam's development needs, and helping to improve the quality and upgrade of bilateral practical cooperation.

Transportation infrastructure

On September 16, 2026, Vietnamese Executive Vice Prime Minister Pham Gia Trong met with relevant officials from three Chinese companies in Nanning. Yang Yisheng, Deputy General Manager of CCCC, stated that Vietnam is a key overseas market for enterprises, and they plan to continue to deepen their cultivation in local transportation infrastructure, port logistics, green energy and other fields. The enterprise focuses on the Old Street Hanoi Haiphong railway project and strives to promote the construction of China Vietnam railway interconnection. The Vietnamese side welcomes this and looks forward to the enterprise connecting with the local competent department to orderly promote the implementation of project cooperation.

Energy layout

Zhang Deliang, Vice President of CEEC International Group, introduced that the company is actively expanding into Vietnam's energy industry and plans to participate in local projects such as renewable energy, gas-fired power generation, energy storage, and power system upgrades. Simultaneously pay close attention to the construction of three cross-border railways: Laojie Hanoi Haiphong, Tongdeng Hanoi, and Mangjie Ha Long Haiphong. The Vietnamese side stated that they are accelerating the China Unicom railway project and hope that both sides can refine their plans and deepen cooperation in the energy and railway fields. Digital Transformation

Huawei Southeast Asia CEO Wang Wei proposed to continue expanding cooperation in Vietnam's digital economy, digital transformation, green energy, and talent development, and to focus on energy storage and AI technology applications. The Vietnamese side hopes that Huawei will transform its cooperation model from a single device supply to joint technology research and development, promote the landing of demonstration projects such as artificial intelligence, next-generation communication, data centers, and green energy, and empower Vietnam's digital industry upgrading.
