Recently, Wang Hongzhi, Director of the National Energy Administration of China, met with Guillermo Xinye, Minister of Energy and Mines of Peru, who was attending the APEC Energy Ministers' Meeting in China. The two sides exchanged views on cooperation in the fields of oil and gas, electricity, renewable energy, and other areas.

Wang Hongzhi stated that China and Peru are comprehensive strategic partners, and energy cooperation is an important component of bilateral practical cooperation. In recent years, under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, energy cooperation has continuously blossomed, injecting strong impetus into the economic and social development of the two countries. The Chinese side is willing to actively implement the important deployment of the two heads of state on energy cooperation with the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, pragmatically expand diversified investment cooperation spaces such as renewable energy, new power systems, new energy storage, green mining, etc., promote low-carbon energy transformation, achieve complementary advantages, and benefit the development of people's livelihoods in both countries.

Guillermo Shinno stated that Peru attaches great importance to energy cooperation with China and is continuously expanding its opening-up in the energy sector to optimize the business environment.
