Continuous high-level operation of key material transportation

The national railway implements a transportation capacity tilt for key materials such as electric coal, grain, and chemical industry, prioritizing the smooth loading and transportation process. In the first eight months, a total of 1.389 billion tons of coal were sent, including 928 million tons of coal for electricity transportation. The coal storage of railway direct power plants in China has remained stable at a reasonable high level, and there has been no regional power supply gap.

Except for coal, the transportation volume of grain, chemical, and textile goods increased by 9.9%, 5.5%, and 21.7% year-on-year in the first eight months, respectively. The growth rate of transportation of livelihood and light industry materials significantly accelerated. From January to August, a total of 1567 logistics general contracting contracts were signed for the entire railway, with a contracted transportation volume of 1.3 billion tons. The structural upgrading of the transportation system continues to advance

In the first eight months of the transformation of passenger trains into express trains, a total of 33000 trains were operated, with a year-on-year increase of 37% in the shipment of goods. The volume of railway and public intermodal transportation reached 320 million tons, a significant increase of 65.5% year-on-year. The rapid popularization of multimodal transport is gradually breaking through the bottleneck between trunk transportation and end of pipe distribution, and improving the overall logistics operation efficiency of the society.

From January to August 2026, the fixed assets investment of national railways will be 511.8 billion yuan, up 1.5% year on year, and a number of multimodal transport hub stations are being accelerated.
