The equipment of Haiyang West 1000 kV High Voltage Switching Station was powered on for the first time, and the current flowed smoothly along the thousand mile long iron tower line. The Yanwei High Voltage Project officially entered the live commissioning stage. This electric highway spanning the five cities of Jiaodong is only one final step away from its official operation.
Full process verification enters the final stage
Live commissioning is equivalent to the full section test before the opening of ultra-high voltage, and is the core checkpoint before the project is put into operation. This debugging lasted from September 21st to September 24th, covering a total of 13 core tests. Key processes such as switching the low-voltage reactor on the 110 kV side, switching the 1000 kV no-load line, and closing and disconnecting the 1000 kV line were completed in sequence, and the operational performance of all primary and secondary equipment was fully inspected.

During the debugging process, the staff will verify the voltage stability of the ultra-high voltage system, the ability of new equipment to withstand operational shocks, the accuracy of relay protection response, and synchronously monitor indicators such as overvoltage, electromagnetic environment, infrared and ultraviolet to ensure that all parameters fully comply with technical specifications. After debugging is completed, the project will directly enter the 72 hour live trial operation phase.
The green power channel is about to be fully connected
Yanweite High Voltage is the world's first ultra-high voltage project for targeted nuclear power transmission, with a total length of 1197 kilometers, passing through five cities including Yantai, Qingdao, Rizhao, Weifang, and Linyi. It precisely connects with the original ultra-high voltage ring network in western Shandong, forming an "8" - shaped provincial dual ring network architecture, and is the first provincial-level ultra-high voltage dual ring network to be implemented in China.
As the core transmission channel for nuclear power, offshore wind power, and photovoltaic bases in the Jiaodong Peninsula, after the project is put into operation, the Jiaodong Peninsula can add over 30 billion kilowatt hours of clean power cross regional allocation capacity every year, efficiently delivering green power originally concentrated in the east to the load center of Shandong Province. The current between the iron towers is undergoing the final round of verification, and this green power artery spanning mountains and seas will soon deliver stable clean electricity to the entire province of Shandong.Editor/Cheng Liting
