Recently, the Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce met with a delegation from Xinjiang led by Chen Yulin, Vice Chairman of the China Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Federation of Industry and Commerce. The two sides discussed expanding trade, economic, and investment cooperation. The Ukrainian side attended the talks with Sherzod Ibrahim, Vice Chairman of the Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Jamil Maksudi, Chairman's advisor. The members of the Chinese delegation include leaders from large enterprises and institutions in Xinjiang, engaged in the decoration industry, construction, aluminum production, cotton trade, and agricultural technology. The economic and trade cooperation link spanning the Pamir Plateau from Tashkent to Urumqi is being tightened again.

Exploring joint projects across multiple fields

The attending parties discussed the prospects of strengthening bilateral and regional connections, as well as joint projects in the fields of textiles, building materials, agriculture and animal husbandry, healthcare, and logistics. The meeting paid special attention to the possible signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce and the Xinjiang Federation of Industry and Commerce. The signing of this document is expected to help expand business connections, promote direct connections between entrepreneurs, and facilitate the implementation of a number of new joint projects. From the decoration industry to aluminum production, from cotton trade to agricultural technology, the industrial composition of the Xinjiang delegation is highly compatible with the current development needs of Uzbekistan, and the complementarity between the two sides is particularly prominent in the fields of building materials, textiles, and agriculture.

Nukus Investment Forum itinerary

During the visit, at the invitation of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, the Chinese delegation will attend the International Investment Forum held in Nukus. The Xinjiang representative will also visit several large production enterprises in the region on site. As the capital of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, Nukus has been actively attracting foreign investment to promote local industrial development in recent years.
