On September 22, 2026, Ambassador Yao Jing and his wife held a reception to celebrate the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. Nearly a thousand people attended, including the Second Vice President of the Spanish Senate Andreu, Minister of Agriculture Pranas, Minister of Equality Redondo, as well as representatives from the Spanish government, parliament, political parties, military and police, industry and commerce, culture and education, media, foreign envoys to Spain, Chinese funded institutions, students studying abroad, and overseas Chinese.

Yao reviewed the glorious achievements of the 77 years since the founding of the People's Republic of China, explained the importance of the four global initiatives, and emphasized that this year is the beginning of the 15th Five Year Plan. China is willing to work with Spain to implement the important consensus of the leaders of the two countries and push the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and the West to a new height. Western guests delivered speeches to congratulate and highly praised the development of West China relations. They fully acknowledged the contributions made by the overseas Chinese community to the development of the West and expressed their willingness to continue deepening pragmatic cooperation between the two countries.
