On September 28, 2026, the C95 morning train of the Lao Zhong Railway was officially put into operation. Under the witness of the General Manager of Lao Zhong Railway Company, the first train departed from Moding Station and headed south directly to Vientiane. The opening of this new service is a result of the implementation of the cooperation consensus between China and Laos, deepening the construction of a community with a shared future between the two countries and transforming political mutual trust into tangible benefits for the people of Laos.

Efficient round-trip

In the past, traveling from northern Laos to Vientiane was time-consuming and costly. The all-new C95/C96 round-trip trains significantly improve travel efficiency, achieving same day round-trip between Moding and Wanxiang. The early C95 departs from Moding at 8:00 and arrives in Vientiane at 11:47; C96 departs from Vientiane at 14:05 in the afternoon and arrives in Moding at 18:32.

After the opening of the service, people can travel back and forth for business and family visits on the same day, greatly saving time and travel costs, and effectively promoting the economic and trade development of northern Laos. The train schedule is accurately adapted to passenger flow, with morning trains running from Moding to Vientiane on Tuesdays, return trains from Vientiane to Moding on Thursdays, and regular two-way trains running from Monday, Friday to Sunday.
