The Tanzania Railway Company held its first meeting with the French rail transit consulting company Systra to launch a feasibility study for the Dar es Salaam Monorail, which will determine the route, technical specifications, and cost. The Director General of TRC expressed the hope for private sector participation to introduce capital, innovation, and technology into project construction and operation. There have been multiple versions of the Dashi Rail Transit concept before, and the Tanzania Investment and Economic Zone Authority has listed a larger commuter railway network with an estimated investment of about 8 billion US dollars, planned to adopt the PPP model; There is also a smaller $2.2 billion project in the government PPP project library. Dodoma Seeks Capital

The progress of the Dodoma project is clearly ahead of schedule, and TRC has completed the feasibility study of the urban commuter railway network, which was prepared by a consortium composed of companies from Spain, India, and South Korea. The first phase consists of three lines with a total length of 104.6 kilometers, including a 52.9-kilometer red line with 41 stations, a 28.6-kilometer purple line with 23 stations, and a 23.1-kilometer green line with 18 stations. The main corridor leads to the planned Musalato International Airport along Arusha Road. At present, TRC is negotiating financing with potential partners through PPP mode, and multiple institutions have expressed interest. The two projects serve intra city travel and complement the division of labor of the standard gauge railway connecting the two cities.
