On the launch site of Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center, the Long March 6 carrier rocket completed its final status inspection under clear autumn sky. At 16:46 Beijing time on September 24th, the rocket ignited and launched, and the Remote Sensing 40 04 satellite group successfully entered the predetermined orbit, and the launch mission was a complete success.

The new generation of carrier rockets ensures high-density networking

The Long March 6 carrier rocket used in this mission is the first domestically developed medium carrier rocket with solid-liquid bundling, which can adapt to the network launch needs of satellites of different weights. The rocket adopts a modular and universal design, which greatly shortens the preparation period of the launch site and can quickly respond to the satellite launch needs of different orbits.

The latest publicly available mission data in September shows that the orbit insertion accuracy of this launch is controlled within the optimal range of the design specifications, the satellite separation process is smooth throughout, and all telemetry data on the arrow is within the normal range. This is also the sixth commercial launch mission completed by the Long March 6 rocket in 2026, further verifying its high-density operational capability.

Remote sensing constellation layout continues to accelerate

The Remote Sensing 40 series satellites are mainly used in the fields of land survey, natural resource investigation, disaster prevention and reduction, etc., and can provide stable remote sensing data support for users in various industries in China. After the 04 satellites are put into orbit, it will further improve the global coverage observation efficiency of the entire constellation and shorten the revisit period.
