Between the gullies of the Loess Plateau, an energy pipeline that has been laid out for nearly half a century has just reached a new milestone. The crude oil export pipeline network in Ningxia has accumulated over 200 million tons of oil, and this ancient energy channel spanning Gansu and Ningxia is still providing stable energy for the allocation and transportation of oil and gas resources in the western region.

564 kilometer skeleton support cross regional deployment

This pipeline network is mainly composed of the Huianbao Zhongning Huianbao Yinchuan Shikong Lanzhou crude oil pipeline, with a total length of 564 kilometers. It relies on the Lanzhou hub to achieve cross regional scheduling, directly supplying Lanzhou Petrochemical Ningxia Petrochemical, and then extending to Sichuan Petrochemical through the Lancheng pipeline, covering the three provinces of Gansu, Ningxia, and Sichuan, benefiting millions of people along the line. Since its commissioning, the pipeline network's oil transportation volume has increased from 100 cubic meters per hour in the initial stage to over 1220 cubic meters per hour, and the annual oil transportation volume has grown from 780000 tons to 8.6 million tons, with daily oil transportation remaining stable at over 23000 tons.

As the core channel for crude oil export from Changqing Oilfield and a key hub for cross regional allocation of crude oil resources in Northwest China, this pipeline network has played a core role in balancing the regional refining and production capacity gap since its establishment. It is one of the earliest key energy infrastructure projects to be implemented in the western development process.

48 years of iterative operation and maintenance to build a strong security barrier

In response to the frequent occurrence of geological disasters on the Loess Plateau, pipeline operators continue to implement hydraulic protection and hidden danger rectification, gradually improving the intrinsic safety level of pipelines. Simultaneously promote the localization transformation of equipment and the construction of intelligent stations, build an integrated three-dimensional protection system for air, space, and earth, promote the shift of pipeline operation and maintenance from human defense to technical defense led human-machine collaboration, and ensure the long-term stable operation of the pipeline network.
