When traditional oil and gas facilities encounter the wave of digitization, KBR's partnership with Saudi Aramco has transformed the Marjan oil field from a steel jungle to a smart oil field, writing a new legend of revitalizing old oil fields in the deep sea.

Recently, KBR company successfully won the bid for the Saudi Aramco offshore engineering project and obtained a project execution cooperation contract, which will provide professional technical and engineering support for the upgrading of core facilities in the Marjan offshore oil field in the Arabian Gulf.

Clearly define the project content

According to this cooperation contract, KBR will provide a complete set of engineering design and project implementation services for the core offshore infrastructure of the Marjan Oilfield. Our business covers multiple core areas such as offshore oil and gas processing facilities, natural gas compression systems, and offshore power supporting facilities, fully empowering the iterative upgrading of oilfield facilities.

Lock the upgrade target

The project relies on the existing development achievements of the oilfield to carry out upgrading and transformation, with the core goal of stabilizing the normalized production capacity of the Marjan oilfield. At the same time, the project will focus on improving the level of associated gas treatment in oil fields, optimizing the operational status of core offshore equipment, and significantly enhancing the long-term stability and reliability of various offshore assets.

Clarify the scope of work

The work includes the renovation of offshore processing facilities, compression and power systems, and the simultaneous promotion of automation and digital technology integration. Digitization and automation solutions will enhance the operational efficiency and stability of oilfield facilities. The project is jointly implemented by KBR Houston and Saudi Arabia's Al Kebar team, relying on the experience of the East Coast offshore energy project to ensure construction.
