On October 7, 2026, Ambassador Lu Guijun met with Colonel Sido, the Director General of the Niger Customs Administration, to comprehensively and deeply introduce the important benefits that China's zero tariff policy has brought to China Nepal cooperation. Lu stated that China's announcement of implementing zero tariffs on 53 African countries with diplomatic relations is an important measure for China to expand high-level opening up to the outside world and work together to build a community with a shared future for China and Africa. China is willing to work with Nepal to promote the further effectiveness of the zero tariff policy in Nepal, support Nepal's export of more characteristic and high-quality agricultural products to China, and better benefit the people of both countries. I hope that the Nepalese customs and other departments can provide more support for the import and export as well as economic and trade exchanges between the two countries.

Sido stated that the zero tariff policy has brought important opportunities for the economic development of African countries such as Nepal. The General Administration of Customs of Nepal is willing to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with relevant Chinese departments, make good use of the benefits of the zero tariff policy, expand exports to China, deepen economic and trade cooperation between the two countries, and achieve mutual benefit and win-win results.Editor/Min Jing
