Recently, Victor Miklyukov, President of the Kazakhstan Developers Association, stated on the BIZDI ñORTA podcast that digitalization in the construction industry, the application of robot systems, and automation of quality control can improve the efficiency of construction in Kazakhstan. Some large construction companies are already using their own IT platforms to help manage construction processes, control work quality, and financial transactions. However, digital tools have not yet been widely adopted throughout the industry, with over 80% of the market still being manually calculated using Excel.

Digitization from paper to system
Miklyukov emphasized that the construction industry needs to shift more actively from paper-based document management to digital control. Technical supervision opinions, facility photos, and work quality information can be recorded in a dedicated IT system, which not only enables faster identification of violations but also more objective evaluation of contractors' work. For example, numerical data can help compare the number of opinions from different companies and consider the results when selecting contractors. Previously, it was reported that Kazakhstan's digitalization plan for the construction industry has been approved, providing a policy framework for industry transformation.

Robots and drones enter the construction site
Modern technology has been used on construction sites in Kazakhstan. Robot equipment helps automate certain types of work and reduce costs. Drones are used to control facades, while special robots can measure structural deviations. After processing the data obtained from the digital program, experts can evaluate the geometric shape of walls, columns, and other building elements. Another area of development in the industry is the automation of construction processes, using specialized equipment to make certain types of work more efficient than pure manual labor, such as mechanized plastering and other solutions that can reduce unnecessary operations on construction sites. Economic benefits drive the implementation of technology
Experts believe that the further development of digitalization should not only be based on mandatory requirements, but also on the economic interests of enterprises. Miklyukov believes that all mechanisms are state-owned and should follow a priority path, which can incentivize construction companies to introduce robotics, digital solutions, and modern quality control methods. From paper documents to digital systems, from manual measurement to robot inspection, Kazakhstan's construction industry is standing at a critical juncture of digital transformation.Editor/Gao Xue
