Recently, Shandong Electric Power Construction Company disclosed that it has won three consecutive international projects: the Saudi Group 1-KSB independent energy storage power station, the Sailun Egypt industrial civil engineering project, and the Husab uranium heap leaching project in Namibia. The three projects are located in the Middle East, North Africa, and southern Africa, covering energy storage, industrial infrastructure, and mining sectors, marking the acceleration of Shandong Electric Power Construction's multi category collaborative layout in overseas markets. From the Persian Gulf to the Red Sea coast and then to the uranium mining areas in southern Africa, Shandong Electric Power Construction's overseas business map is shifting from a single project to multi country and multi category collaboration.

Saudi Arabia 500MW energy storage power station

The Saudi Group 1-KSB independent energy storage power station project is one of the first projects in Saudi Arabia's battery energy storage plan, with Saudi Electricity Procurement Company as the purchaser and an energy storage capacity of 500MW/2000MWh. After the project is completed and put into operation, it can play a role in shifting peaks and filling valleys, smoothing fluctuations, enhancing the regulation capacity and power supply resilience of Saudi Arabia's power grid, supporting the consumption of new energy such as wind and solar power, and helping Saudi Arabia achieve its 2030 energy transformation goals. Shandong Electric Power Construction has accumulated deep experience in the energy storage market in Saudi Arabia. The supporting energy storage system scale of the Saudi Red Sea Public Utility Infrastructure Project undertaken by Shandong Electric Power Construction has reached 1.3GWh, and has been certified by Guinness World Records as the world's largest off grid battery energy storage facility in terms of capacity. The winning bid for KSB's independent energy storage power station is a further extension of its presence in the energy storage field in Saudi Arabia.

Egypt Tire Factory Phase II Civil Engineering

The Sailun Egypt Industrial Civil Engineering Project is located in the Teda Industrial Park in Suez Province, Egypt, covering a total area of 350000 square meters. The overall plan is implemented in three phases. The first phase will construct a radial tire workshop, the second phase will lay out semi steel tire and all steel tire workshops, and the third phase will construct semi steel tire, all steel tire, and engineering tire workshops. Shandong Electric Power Construction is responsible for the civil engineering of the second phase mixing workshop and raw material warehouse, including earthwork, foundation, upper main structure, building decoration, drainage, HVAC, lighting and lightning protection grounding, fire engineering, etc. The mixing workshop is the core workshop for tire production, with strict requirements for equipment foundation and construction structure accuracy. The total investment of Sailun Egypt factory is 1.717 billion US dollars, about 11.5 billion yuan. After completion, it will become the largest tire factory in Egypt, with an annual production capacity of 36 million semi steel tires, 3.3 million all steel tires, and 20000 tons of off-road tires. Previously, Sailun Group had signed a strategic cooperation agreement with China Power Construction to provide comprehensive support for Sailun's overseas business expansion. Namibia uranium heap leaching

The Husab uranium heap leaching project in Namibia is a new low-grade ore heap leaching and wet metallurgical processing plant, designed to process 3.6 million tons of raw ore annually, with a uranium leaching recovery rate of not less than 80% and a production water reuse rate of not less than 92.54%. The planned construction period is about 22.3 months. This project relies on the Husab uranium mine, the world's largest open-pit uranium mine, to develop a large amount of low-grade ore resources, which can effectively activate low-grade uranium resources and enhance resource security capabilities. After the completion of the project, it is expected to increase the annual production of uranium concentrate by about 600 tons, which has important demonstration significance for the development of Namibia's mining industry and China Namibia capacity cooperation. The Husab uranium mine is operated by Sko Corporation, a subsidiary of China General Nuclear Power Corporation. Chinese investors hold 90% of the shares, while Namibia's state-owned Epangelo Mining Company holds 10%. Shandong Electric Power Construction's simultaneous implementation of the three standards reflects its overseas business layout shifting from a single project to multi country and multi category collaboration. The three projects cover the Middle East, North Africa, and Southern Africa, forming a business map spanning the east and west wings of the African continent. Shandong Electric Power Construction's business scope has covered regions such as Asia, Africa, and South America, and has won EPC projects in 12 countries and regions including Saudi Arabia, Nigeria, and Zambia, with a cumulative contract amount of 14.8 billion US dollars. Energy storage, industrial civil engineering, and mining heap leaching belong to three different engineering fields. Shandong Electric Power Construction is transforming from a traditional general contractor for power engineering to a comprehensive service provider for multi category infrastructure.Editor/Gao Xue
