The Millennium Trade Station is located at the top of Honghai Bay. With its unique geographical location at the junction of Asia, Africa, and Europe, and relying on its only seaport advantage, Aqaba has established a development framework for the coordinated development of cultural and tourism in the port special zone.

Aqaba is the only coastal port city in Jordan, responsible for transporting 80% of the country's exported goods and 65% of imported goods. The port has a water depth of 12 to 14 meters and can accommodate 100000 ton ships for docking. In the first half of 2026, the port's container throughput reached 472680 TEUs, with a year-on-year increase of 155.1% in transit freight volume. The roll on/roll off route from Beibu Gulf Port to Aqaba Port was opened, and 2667 Chinese brand cars arrived at the port. In February 2026, Abu Dhabi Ports Group invested $38.4 million and signed a 30-year franchise agreement. The Aqaba Special Economic Zone was established in 2001 with a total area of 465 square kilometers. It relies on preferential investment policies to attract foreign investment and form a diversified industry of logistics, processing, culture, and tourism. The local cultural and tourism resources are abundant, with a tourist reception of 1.3 million in 2019. In the future, Aqaba will continue to unleash the geopolitical value of the Red Sea, promote the upgrading of logistics infrastructure, and build a regional comprehensive port city.Editor/Min Jing
