Recently, at the signing ceremony of the project in Belgrade, Serbia, the representative of the Serbian Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, Sofronievic, the representative of Belgrade Metro and Rolling Stock Company, and the representative of China Electric Power Construction jointly wrote. China Power Construction Corporation has successfully signed the third section of the main line project of Belgrade Metro Line 1 Phase I, with a contract amount of 1.621 billion euros, equivalent to approximately 12.526 billion yuan. Previously, China Electric Power Construction had signed contracts for the first and second sections of the project. The third section is the largest and most critical core section of this subway mainline project. Thus, the first and second sections won in 2024, together with the third section signed this time, constitute the complete civil engineering of the first phase of Belgrade Metro Line 1.

12.5 billion won the core bid section

The project contract amount is 1621308405.50 euros, equivalent to approximately 12.526 billion yuan. The main work includes construction drawing design, main structure construction, decoration and renovation, mechanical and electrical installation, and landscape greening. The project has a construction period of 60 months and a warranty period of 2 years. As a key project for the joint construction of the the Belt and Road, Belgrade Metro Line 1 is the first subway line in Belgrade, the capital of Serbia, and the first fully automated driverless subway system in the country. The line is 15.4km long with 15 stations, of which about 10.4km section is constructed by TBM shield method. 12.5 billion yuan can be regarded as the total contracting cost of the project, covering the entire process from design to construction to mechanical and electrical installation.

China's shield tunneling machine enters the tunnel for the first time

On April 22, 2026, the acceptance ceremony for the two shield tunneling machines used in this project was held in Changsha, marking the first application of Chinese shield tunneling equipment and construction technology in the construction of the Serbian subway. The first batch of shield tunneling equipment will be shipped from Taicang Port in Jiangsu Province on August 1, 2026. The second batch of equipment will be loaded onto ships at Yangzhou Port from September 3, 2026, and will be shipped on September 11, 2026. By then, all shield tunneling equipment for this project has been transported. From acceptance in Changsha and shipment from Taicang to Yangzhou for loading, Chinese shield tunneling equipment has crossed the sea and arrived in Serbia, providing equipment support for the tunnel construction of this fully automated unmanned subway. Continued expansion of overseas business
