On October 30, 2026, a China Europe freight train carrying export goods such as steel pipes and flanges departed from Shijiazhuang International Land Port and headed directly to Bata Station in Belgrade, Serbia, achieving direct interconnection between domestic land ports and overseas operating stations.

Direct train service to self operated overseas stations

This route was opened and maintained regular operation as early as March 2024. For the first time, this train will terminate at the Bata Station operated by Hebei Land Port in Belgrade, completely bypassing the previous reliance on overseas third-party transit stations. In the past, when trains stopped at third-party stations, delivery delays often occurred due to unstable job scheduling. The new direct mode can improve the efficiency of terminal distribution by more than 30%.

Shijiazhuang International Land Port has formed a complete organizational capability covering the entire process of shipping, arrival, loading and unloading, and distribution for the first time in the direction of Serbia, greatly enhancing the controllability of the entire cross-border logistics chain. High value-added goods such as electromechanical and photovoltaic equipment exported from the Beijing Tianjin Hebei region to Central and Eastern Europe do not require secondary transfer at overseas stations, and can be quickly distributed to the markets of Serbia and surrounding countries after being unloaded.

Further development of network layout in Central and Eastern Europe

Hebei Land Port is using Bata Station as the core carrier to promote the construction of the China Serbia Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone in Belgrade. On the one hand, it undertakes a continuous supply of foreign trade goods from the Beijing Tianjin Hebei region, and on the other hand, it builds a reverse flow channel to attract characteristic products from Central and Eastern Europe to be transported back to the Chinese market. In the first three quarters of 2026, Shijiazhuang International Land Port has operated a total of 1023 China Europe freight trains, with an import and export volume of 103000 TEUs, an increase of 27.4% and 26% year-on-year, respectively. Keywords: Cross border trains, China Europe trains

The direct delivery of trains to self operated overseas stations marks the extension of Shijiazhuang International Land Port's Central and Eastern European network from a single route to a node based and systematic layout upgrade. As the operational capacity of the station continues to be released, this channel will become the most stable land logistics artery connecting Central and Eastern Europe in the Beijing Tianjin Hebei region, providing more solid cross-border logistics support for regional foreign trade growth.Editor/Cheng Liting
