On November 3, 2026, in a conference room at Dubai Medical University, XtalPi signed a strategic cooperation agreement with representatives of the university. Both parties plan to introduce artificial intelligence and robot automation technology into medical research, exploring a collaborative research and development path between robots and AI, from drug discovery, natural product analysis to scientific research achievement transformation. For this AI pharmaceutical company headquartered in Shenzhen, there is another landing point on the Middle East life science map.

Another child falls from the Middle East

This is another collaboration between XtalPi and the United Arab Emirates in the field of life sciences in the Middle East, following the establishment of a $30 million traditional medicine automation research and development laboratory in 2025. According to the agreement, XtalPi will provide artificial intelligence, robot experimental platform, and related technical support to Dubai Medical University. The two parties will combine local academic research resources to promote joint scientific research projects, technical exchanges, and talent cultivation, and explore opportunities for the transformation of scientific research achievements. The modernization research of traditional herbs in the Middle East has been listed as a potential direction for cooperation. Both parties plan to use AI and automated experimental technology to analyze regional characteristic plant resources and screen compounds that may have biological activity.

Robot parsing herbs

The Middle East has a long history of using traditional herbs, but there is still a need for extensive experimentation in identifying effective ingredients, verifying pharmacological effects, and standardizing research. XtalPi's technology platform combines robot automation with artificial intelligence, connecting sample extraction, separation and purification, compound identification, and biological activity testing into a continuous automated process, reducing manual operations. At the Dubai World Health Expo in February 2026, XtalPi showcased its participation in the construction of the Hengqin Laboratory's Four Modernizations Platform for Traditional Chinese Medicine New Drug Creation. This technology can help researchers analyze the chemical components of complex natural products more systematically. In March 2025, XtalPi signed a commercial cooperation agreement with Sheikh Hamad's office in the United Arab Emirates, planning to jointly build a modern robot automatic research and development laboratory for traditional medicines in the Middle East. The initial investment is 30 million US dollars to establish a local database of traditional medicine ingredients. Keywords: the Belt and Road news AI、 Artificial Intelligence, Middle East

Dual landing of scientific research talents

XtalPi was founded in 2015, headquartered in Shenzhen, and will be listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in 2024. This time, we have signed a contract with Dubai Medical University to connect the enterprise technology platform with local university research resources. The school provides research personnel, research projects, and teaching systems, while XtalPi provides automated experimental technology and drug development platforms. Both parties are expected to conduct joint research around specific topics and increase opportunities for students to participate in practical research projects. In recent years, the United Arab Emirates has continued to expand its investment in the life sciences, pharmaceutical, and biotechnology industries. Artificial intelligence drug research and laboratory automation have become one of the directions that attract international technology companies in the region. With the increase of cooperation, Chinese AI pharmaceutical companies are gradually expanding their business in the Middle East from technology platform output to scientific research cooperation and talent cultivation.Editor/Gao Xue
