Recently, according to the news published by the Guangzhou Public Resources Exchange, the construction of Guangzhou Metro Line 24 will start in 2021 and is expected to be completed in 2025.

It is understood that the dismantling line project (Guangzhou North~Memorial Hall Station) of Guangzhou Metro Line 24 or Line 8 North Extension Section is about 31.6km in length. There are 10 stations with an average distance of 1.83km.

Guangzhou North Railway Station (transfer to Line 9)—Xiuquan Park—Yayao—Yayuan—Dongjing—Shenshan Dong—Shuili—Jiangfu (transfer to Line 8)—Taoyuan—Junhe—Baiyun Dalang—Xia Mao— Huangshi-Baiyun (Tangxi) Station (transfer to Line 12)-Tangjing-Yuanjing-Ziyuangang (transfer to Line 11)-Memorial Hall (transfer to Line 2 and 13). There are one Yayuan parking lot and one Tangge Depot on the whole line. It adopts 6 type A cars in the formation, with a maximum design speed of 100km/h. According to reports, the main function of Line 24 allows Huadu to quickly reach Tangxi Station and enter the city center. The station is densely located in the suburbs and sparsely located in the urban area.

According to documents, Line 24 will pass through Baiyun Station, a railway hub, and transfer to Line 12, and the line will go further south into the urban area. From Jiangfu to Tangxi to the central city, Line 24 is located between Line 2 and Line 8, and is expected to become another north-south artery. The document pointed out that the line will also consider sustainable green rail transit, fully automated driving technology, quality subways, smart subways, smart construction sites, integrated driving automation technology, equipment intelligent monitoring and intelligent diagnosis, urban foyer, space environment quality improvement, Disaster prevention technology standards are improved, etc.
