TCL Public Co has signed a power purchase agreement with Electric Power Generation Enterprise (EPGE), a state-owned enterprise under the Myanmar Ministry of Electricity and Energy (MOEE), for a liquefied natural gas-to-power project in the Yangon region, theasset.com reported.

The agreement was signed by TTCL Power Myanmar Co (TPMC), a subsidiary of Bangkok-based TTCL, which is a joint venture between Toyo Engineering Corporation of Japan and Italian-Thai Development Public Company Limited. TPMC will develop the 388MW Ahlone LNG-to-power project in Ahlone township, Yangon region.

The engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) works comprise the power plant, plus a 28-kilometre transmission line, a 25-kilometre gas pipeline, and an LNG receiving terminal. The scope of the project also includes procurement, transport, storage and regasification of imported LNG.See Road Network Engineering Column Editor/Ge Siyu
